Boston Celtics Auerbach Center Interior Design | NBA Training Facility in Boston, MA
The Auerbach Center, the 70,000-square-foot headquarters and official practice facility of the Boston Celtics, was designed as a cutting-edge NBA training and performance facility in Boston, Massachusetts. Created from the ground up in collaboration with New Balance Athletics, the project merges advanced athletic functionality with refined contemporary interior design.
The facility was conceived to balance form and performance, providing professional athletes with spaces optimized for training, recovery, and team collaboration. Clean architectural lines, bold graphics, and modern materials reflect the dynamic energy of professional basketball while maintaining a disciplined and purposeful design language.
Within the game room and player areas, the design honors Celtics history with a dramatic oversized black-and-white photograph of legendary coach and executive Red Auerbach, whose leadership helped define the franchise. This powerful visual tribute anchors the space while reinforcing the organization’s deep legacy within the NBA.
Throughout the headquarters, modern furnishings, custom graphics, and carefully considered spatial planning create an environment that supports both elite athletic performance and team culture. The result is a state-of-the-art Boston sports facility that celebrates the heritage of the Celtics while providing a contemporary home for one of the NBA’s most iconic franchises.
